What sits behind “AI layoffs”

The phrase "AI Layoffs" sounds terrifying, doesn't it? When Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff recently said he cut 4,000 jobs because he "needed less heads", it made me wonder what's really going on behind the headlines.

So, I went on a bit of a crusade to figure it out. I dove into the numbers and official statements from companies bragging about "AI-related" changes, including giants like Meta, Microsoft, IBM, and UPS.

Is AI truly replacing us, or is it a convenient excuse for something else? The story is far more intriguing than I expected.
