# Agentic readiness press release

Tier C (Weak signal): A Deloitte press release announcing its own survey: headline percentages without the full method, from a firm that sells agentic transformation services.

Summary based on the full text.

## In short

A Deloitte US press release (August 2026) announcing a survey of 501 US business and IT leaders on agentic AI. It is the short public version of the Deloitte Insights report "AI agents are only the beginning: The path to agentic transformation". The message: leaders expect agents to rebuild a large share of their processes, but few have the processes, data or workforce ready, and most are bolting agents onto existing workflows.

## Key numbers

- 5%: organizations saying their business processes are highly prepared for AI agents
- 15%: organizations with scaled, orchestrated, cross-functional multi-agent adoption
- 74%: leaders expecting nearly half of business processes to be redesigned around agents within four years
- 501: US senior managers to C-suite surveyed, April-June 2026

## What it reports

- 74% expect nearly half of their business processes to be redesigned or rebuilt around AI agents within four years; 61% expect most agents to be generally autonomous, with humans in oversight.
- 75% agree that human collaboration with agents creates more value than agent automation alone.
- Nearly two-thirds say they are reevaluating their business models; about half have a clear view of an agent-powered operating model.
- Only 5% say their processes are highly prepared; 15% have scaled orchestrated multi-agent adoption; among scaled adopters, 46% call their processes prepared.
- Barriers: 72% lack unified, accessible data; 70% do not feel they can trust and govern agents; 67% find integration too costly and complex.
- Preparedness by area: vision and strategy 52%, technology infrastructure 48%, data foundation 42%, risk, security and governance 39%, ecosystem partnerships 34%, workforce 25%, business processes 21%.
- 42% have tested or deployed agents; 43% have deployed them across more than one function; 31% expect most processes to be redesigned within two years.
- 43% expect significant workforce disruption in 12-18 months, 72% over two to three years; half say their organization is not investing enough in workforce transformation.

## How they got it

Survey of 501 US respondents at senior manager to C-suite level across five industries, fielded April-June 2026. Every organization had to be at least piloting agentic AI, and every respondent was involved in agentic AI strategy or implementation. 55% were technology-function leaders, 45% line-of-business and other functions. Twenty executive interviews supplemented the survey.

## Limits

- The sample excludes firms not yet piloting agents, so readiness and ambition figures describe early adopters, not the US economy.
- All figures are self-reported expectations; there is no outcome data and no prior-year baseline.
- Deloitte sells the transformation work the release recommends.

## Why it matters for companies

The most useful signal is the spread between ambition (74% expecting process redesign) and readiness (21% prepared on processes, 25% on workforce). It confirms that data, governance and integration, more than model capability, block scaling. For a traditional company the practical point is that layering agents onto current processes gives early returns but hits a ceiling.
